Valentine's Day - Spread the Love

Image
This year, Valentine's Day is a special day for both Eve and I. We are both so thankful for the day that we renewed our wedding vows. It's just so touching. In the service, my church asked all the wedded couples to come forward. And Eve and I looked at each other and said the vows which we did 5 years ago. It made me feel that every couple should say their wedding vows once every year, face to face and look in the eye when we say to each other. It rekindles and reassures the commitment we have for each other and we both feel blessed to have each other and God too. He also shared a meaningful message.  Love is a choice Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is a challenge. This is so true! And it takes effort from both parties to make the love work! It's the action that makes the LOVE existent.  "We should not rely on natural love feelings all the time, because it will disappear as times goes. Hence we need to work on the relat...

Candlelight Service

Image
Last Sunday, our church had the candlelight service and it's a time we reflect and also to know the importance of Christmas ( the birth of Jesus Christ ). Honestly, I'm really very touched to see so many people in service and Eve also invited her cousin along. Really appreciate the effort she had made to go down to service early, and managed to get seats too. My children sat through the service and I'm really thankful for it. Kate held on to a new candle, awaiting for the candlelight to be lit. We were also fortunate to find seats in this fully filled service! Josh loves candles and he can't wait for his candle to be lit too. It's funny because we sat at the last row of the service and it took quite a while before the candle light was passed on to our row. Josh kept asking,"Where is my flame?" Finally! Their candles are lit! This is also the first time I allow both of them to take a light candle stick by their own. Our chur...

Unwell

Image
Hey! This is the first time I ever felt so bad. I am actually down with a sore throat! And the cause is because I drank milo. This drink - I haven't drank for quite awhile. I get heaty easily after I drink milo. And I drank it once with my friend on Friday, and it brought my immune system down! I began to lose my voice today and the feeling is just terrible. Nevertheless, we went to church. It was a fruitful journey as today, they taught about sheep! Moses and the sheep. And they did the sheep art and craft! So cute! Pictures of my children with the artpiece! Ain't they look like cute lil' sheep!! However after church, I was feeling quite feverish and totally no more voice left! We have to quickly rush home and we forgo an event at Josh's ex-teacher place. Felt bad about it. Thank God I rested and managed to regain a partial of my voice back again. Dinner at Chinatown We went to Chinatown for dinner because I crave for claypot frog leg porridge and I...

Easter

Image
Easter is a day to remember what Jesus had suffered for us. And I watched the play which was wonderfully done by my church ministry. They really have put in a lot of effort and I'm just so proud of them. You can click here to watch the service !  Saturday 5pm and Sunday 10am. They showed testimonies on what Jesus had done to help people, healing them, chasing devils away, providing for the needy and hungry people, etc. I feel that one should be doing these stuffs, be it you are a Christian or non-believer. It really brings out the character of giving back to the society. The act of selfless giving. I feel it is very important. One can no need to fork out cash for donating. He can provide the helping hands. This will actually make a person more wholesome. The fact that my church made use of the large screen is a very smart move! The usage of background props are greatly minimized, making them much more Eco-friendly. I have attended a lot of events such as Dinner and dance a...

An hour ride with sleeping children

Image
Yes! Today we went to Church and we felt that God always speaks to me, no matter if I'm inside the service or outside at the play area. The thing about Family is being able to pray and communicate. This way, there is unity among the family members. Now, whenever we eat, we will sing a song and it's getting part of our culture already. Want to know what song is it? "Thank you for the world so sweet. Dum-dee-dum. Thank you for the food we eat. Yum-yum. Thank you for the birds that sing-a-ling-a-ling. Thank you God for everything. Amen." And Kate will hymn and end off with Amen. Josh will sing softly with eyes closed and both hands together. What a sweet sight. After Church We went to Changi Airport Terminal 2 to have our feast. Find that the place has one of the better food around that is edible at Expo Area. Then, Eve went for appointment and I did something that I guess no one has done it before. I took an hour bus ride with two children. And they both s...

Christmas Candlelight service

Image
Sunday morning, we headed out to church and it was candlelight service! I'm touched to receive messages from Pastor saying that we have Jesus who is always working hard 24/7, and many a times we have no idea what he is preparing for us. This set me thinking that actually this year, I have managed to achieve what I have set out to achieve. And this has not been achievable if I didn't place my faith with God. I will try my best to make full use of the next 14 days! Seeing the pictures, I'm really very happy to have my very own supportive wife and children. They are my pillars and always in the future. Really so glad about it. In the church, we are really very blessed and many people were given candles and from one candlelight, it slowly spread to more and more, until the whole place turned from darkness to brightly lit! This year's Christmas, there is a feeling that it's very special indeed! Josh attempting to blow out the candle! Kate and I.. She love...

Thank you Church

This week's message is really close to my heart. It's in the topic of faith. I agree that many a times, it's a leap of faith that brings people from one level to another. Without it, a person will seem to be quite aimless. Faith is a like a decision you have decided, and you set out what you want to achieve and have the belief to get it. It will be cemented by the words we speak! For me, I prefer to write down so as to remind myself over and over again. Speaking your faith out is really so important. It will somehow leads to your achievement. You can repeat it a hundred, or even a thousand times! I have to honestly work on this! Speak positively and to keep professing on my faith. Dr Yong was called upon to speak at a conference on the third day because the previous two days, the attendance was not so good (at most 3000 in a 20000 capacity area). He prayed and placed his faith to God and amazingly, he called the organizer to get more chairs that day. The organizer told ...

Thank you Church

I really want to thank you God for letting me and Eve to attend Church for this past few years. It's only today that I realize what is it that qualifies me to enter the church and to learn? Have I contributed anything to deserve a seating space in the sermon? I thought of it and what I can say is that probably my faith in God in the building fund, the multiple offerings as well as attending cellgroup are some of the activities that I have done as a Christian. It's not alot as compared to others and feel that I haven't press into the word of God so much. I should read up more on the phrases and the bible verses. I can see that Pastor Kong has really and always put 110% in his sermon outlines and really want us to bring home the message. I have been procrastinating to attend the bible lessons too. More over, it is just located beside my office! Relatively speaking, I can say that his passion is really from his heart with the anointing of God's teaching, it blends well...

My church, my life

Image
Well personally, I feel that there is no need to put nasty comments on issues that are not confirmed yet. I'm just so shocked to see so many worthless and inhumane comments around me. After reading them, yes, they inject a few doubtful thoughts, but still, the underlying truth is that it is not confirmed yet. Eversince I have joined the church, God has blessed me tremendously. Firstly, He has given us a home which we thought we are unable to fund for it. Secondly, He has blessed us with two wonderful and healthy kids and both me and my wife are healthy. Thirdly, our incomes are sufficient for our daily lives too. All these do not come if we had not put our hearts to God. In life, we will definitely face pitfalls but even so, it will let us know that the peak will come after the pitfall is over. I have been in church for coming to 5 years now and I can proudly say that no one has forced me to tithe. No one has forced me to give into building fund as well as offering. Everythin...

Last week

Image
Well Last week is quite a fast week for me. Just feel that I have to really spend both quality time in church, family and work. And that comes about from time management. Josh now knows how to potty train himself and he will even pull down his pants and then urinate into the potty. And all of us are very happy when he shows us. Simply amazing! And quite a few times, without us knowing, he has already pottied and he came and told us!! Amazing boy.. Kate now knows how to laugh with sound!! And she loves to smile when people either sing or talk to her. She is indeed a talker and Eve takes very good care of her, knowing when she is going to potty too.. Yesterday brought my family to Punggol waterpark as they have a firework commencement party there. And I tell you, there are so many people there especially at the 7.30pm mark, as it was advertised on newspaper that this timing is the start of the fireworks. But organiser very clever. They started the fireworks at 8pm and slotted in ...

Today

Well today was Saturday and I'm really very glad that my son was able to sleep with me in the living room for two straight nights in a row. Ha. I'm really proud of him. Because we are trying our best to night wean for him and yes, it's getting better and better. And the good news is that he is knocking to bed slightly earlier already! I have been thinking actually. Seeing happy families and seeing happy married couples. Families certainly bring lots of joys and also at tough times. From Eve's grandma, nothing cannot be impossible to be done. Can you believe a 87 year old could say this? I'm totally impressed. She has helped out in small and big ways in our house and it's certainly commendable. Helped us in cooking and washing dishes and also chores like sewing and ironing clothes. She is really helpful and she had 7children. How come it seems like in the past, having many children seemed easy? And now, we simply complain when we have one? And some even don...

Some thoughts...

Image
Well I'm really very thankful for everyone and God who have been supporting me through my hardwork these few months in 2010. Of course, this year haven't end but honestly speaking, I'm really amazed that I can achieve much better results as compared to my previous years!! Woohoo.. Last year, I manage to hit my gross volume of $135000. But now, I have $222000. Wow right? And I am setting a higher goal for December. See can reach it? Ha!! I'm really very happy for my friends in the civil service, getting two months of their salary as bonus. *congratulations* Amazing race @ Botanic gardens yesterday Yesterday was the first time for my Cellgroup to organize a picnic and I also planned for the Amazing race around botanic gardens too. Love to plan these events and get people to execute it.. Created tasks like roadblocks, detour, pit stop and so happy to see them rushing for their lives towards the end, when they spotted a brown ball water feature!! Below are s...

IT fair and God

Well, today is the first day of IT fair and I tell you, it is also a day of experience. The crowd is not as much as the previous IT fair which I did in April, but the contacts I have gotten is quite potential ones. Even met a lady who works in Singtel for 36 years, who happen to know my aunt who also works that long in the same company! Amazing stuff eh? This time we are located not so near the noisy sound system, so it is better, I find. Tmr will be a better day!! God I really want to thank God for his never ending blessings because today, it happened that my $150k investment is approved and guess what happened? They just launched an incentive that raises my commission to additional 1.5%! I am so thrilled when I saw this email because that would mean that I have additional income of $2250 by doing nothing!! I tell you, when you favor God, He shall favor you even more and he will work around you so that we will benefit from our surroundings! I am amazed by this!! iPhon...
Went to church this morning and really want to thank the Lord for providing us the new knowledge that we can apply in our lives. Whether you are a believer or not, this is somehow true. We are like a lamp, using a wick to light up and oil as fuel. At times, when we overwork, our oil depletes and if we do not have enough rest, our oil is used up and we will burn our own wick = burnt out. We must try to seek other ways so as to fill up our oil. This can be in the form of rest, exercise and for believers, to have faith in god. This not only builds up oil in us, god will help us in ways that we do not burnt out. However if we keep relying on our flesh ( or ourselves), after a while, we will eventually dry up. So in our lives, try our best to keep our oil overflowing and may our wicks keep on burning to keep our lives alive! Another message is about tithing. Well, there will always bound to have 'vultures' eating away our money everytime or that we are tempted to spend on ...
Hi Everyone Now am at NUS blogging. Awaiting for my client and using Felix's student access pin for my laptop! Aren't I smart!! Last saturday, it was a fun time as it was our first time with Josh at a picnic!  Woohoo. It is my cellgroup picnic and I certainly had fun. Made a lot of new friends from another cellgroup and I tell you what I did! I played......... Captain's Ball. Its been a long while eversince I have actually played it and our team won!! WOOHOO!! It is such a fun game and it made me jump and grab the ball too! Can't believe that I can do this feat as I always has a low interest in ball games, except for bowling. Anyway, picnic pictures at ECP is very nice and saw so many people jogging and that stirred me to jog this morning too ! Haa... apparently, we should actually exercise our bodies, at least 3x a week of jogging (prob around 20 minutes). This will certainly be in my schedule!! Love it.... Sunday ---------- Well, Josh was dedic...
Hey! Yesterday was a day to remember... Well, it was my first time to fast for the whole day, and breaking fast at 10pm sharp. I tell you, it is amazing feeling that you can test your body's endurance. For me, I even went for 4 appointments, with running here and there. Of course, there are instances that I feel like eating. But I tell you, I just pressed on. In one appointment, my prospect offered me Yeo's soybean. I looked awhile and I asked for plain water instead. Ha.. Most prob will fast more this year!! WOOHOO!
Hi Everyone! Ohh.. I have to share with you this! Today, Eve and I went to Prayer meeting at 8pm and I left home at 7.30pm, leaving my parents in law at house taking care of Josh.  Prior to that, I was solely taking care of him and he was crying for 45 minutes!! And I tell you, I was to my wits' end.  I tried to bottle feed him. He drank 1 oz and he began to cry again.  I carried him, trying to soothe him... but unable.. Tried and tried... and at the 44th minute, I decided to bring him out of the corridor and then.... he slept soundly... Wow... I was amazed and I was at the position at my door gate for around 5 minutes, and then proceeded to bring him back to his baby bed. Apparently, this example is caused due to not breastfed full enough. Because prior to that, Eve was preparing to go for appointment and she only fed him for 5 minutes, because usually a feed last from 10-15 minutes. And he was partially full at that time. Due to this half-fullness, he felt no...
Love this song so much!! This is for the Typhoon at Taiwan... Lyrics are very meaningful...
