Happy Birthday Mum

Image
This evening, we celebrated my mum's birthday and I really want to thank Eve for planning the steamboat so well. Our version of the soup base consists of corn, radish, red dates and soy beans. Yes, we didn't have any meat for the soup base and it's really sweet! And I didn't like those with pork bones as soup base as it gives the oily feeling at my throat. Also, for the ingredients, Eve went to marketing early in the morning. So happy :). Really proud of her to come out with the grocery list too.  This is the grocery list that Eve wrote early in the morning. I'm really so thankful to see the amount of planning she has made. From the soup base, to the ingredients, and also to the healthy beverage that we made for our guests for today! We prepared toufu, fish balls, sea cucumber, sotong, sea prawns, yam, tempeh, mushrooms, tang-oh and xiao bai cai. I'm really glad that my children enjoyed this steamboat so much!  This really r...

Labour day

It's a well spent day with my family members because in the morning, the four of us headed to the market to shop for groceries. And I bought back alot of fishes, since we are looking for alternative to chicken. Later, we went to the swimming pool and I'm amazed that for the first time, Kate was able to kick in the waters and she simply loved it. Initially we placed her on the toy crocodile float, and she liked it. But after we let her to be in the pool without the float, she preferred it to the float. And when we tried to place her back, she refused! She's such a big girl!! Ha. Josh also played with a big brother and he enjoyed himself. We found that we should bring them often to the pool so as to expose them to the 'open waters'. Then in the evening, we had a steamboat session with my Hoe family and it was fun! The rainy weather made the steamboat favourable and the food that we estimated are almost just right! Woohoo. Hence no food wastage. Josh also ate his...

Hi Everyone! Well, today is a great day! I spent my afternoon helping out at Church because today there is a water baptism and there are approximately 50-60 people being baptised at the Jurong City Harvest Church today. I was a helper for managing the crowd as well as cooling down the floor when my fellow friends actually got out from the baptising pool. Ha... this its called baptising pool, or baptise pool? Anyway, its quite fun to keep pouring water onto the floor to it cool down. Guess who did I saw at the pool?? Zerlina! My secondary school classmate. I didn't know that we belong to the same church! Ha... She also had the same comment as me... :) really am happy for her that she is being baptised today! Woohoo. Actually, I'm quite amazed how systematic City Harvest actually run their events. They have their own delegated groups of people like Security, Ushers, Musicians and also Administrative volunteers! These groups integrate with each other and the way they carry out the...
