Well, today we had an impromptu trip to the zoo and luckily, there wasn't much people there today. I'm really very happy that all of us enjoyed the short trip today! Josh and Kate observing the complex train tracks! As it is a public holiday, we had to purchase our own tram rides. Adult is $5, and child above 3 is $3. It's worth it as we needed some mode of transport around the zoo. And the three of us love tram rides! We bought tram tickets. Even though we are Friends of the Zoo, public holidays do not apply for free tram rides. We managed to get a staff to help us take this picture at the crocodile station. It's been awhile since I have brought my two children to the Zoo! And this time, it's fun because we walked our own pace, without rushing and even though there are so many people, we had our fair share of fun! Journey from our home to the Zoo.. Weather's so fine on a Sunday and boy you need an umbrella. The children brought their cute umbrellas there! We took a train stop to Ang Mo Kio. And my two patriotic children kept singing Majulah Singapura and waving their small flags as they walked through the train station! It's really sweet and heart-warming to see them hand in hand walking and Josh just followed Kate's pace.  Thereafter, we took the 138 bus from Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange.  Bringing children to the zoo, you just need to bring 3 important stuff! 1. Insect Repellent. Mosquitoes are inevitable, especially for me, being an A+ blood carrier. They love me so much. 2. Food - our food list includes 2 apples, 1 orange...

Well, today we enjoyed ourselves at the Zoo, and it was a late afternoon trip down. Glad that there wasn't much people because the weather was sunny and rainy at the same time. We headed to see the Polar Bear and it was so beautiful. The whole tank was large and we managed to spot the one and only Polar Bear. It was our children's first time to see this animal. And reality struck me. I took a closer look and it looked sad. I asked Eve whether how many should there be. There is only 1. It's really so sad and a boy came with his grandfather, and shockingly, he commented that the Polar Bear looked sad. Wow, I mean children don't tell lies right? Josh also felt it and he can act out the sad face. Look at it. Honestly, I feel that it should have companion at least, however I read that they lead solitary lives. Well recently we went to the Zoo and we renewed our Zoo pass. It's certainly been quite a while since we have went to the Zoo and just that the schedules are not suitable. Excuses, I may say. However, we should let them go to the Zoo to expose to them those animals that we have been reading from the books! We didn't pay additional to visit the pandas. Probably next time. It's really a money generating place. Every 15 minutes, they have slots of around 250 people. And we pay $5 if we want to see them for 15 minutes! Meaning to say the Zoo earns $1250 every 15 minutes. Today we had an outing to Zoo. Initially we wanted to leave home at 11am, it turned out to be 1130am. All the additional packing. We brought - 2 umbrellas - 2 water bottles - 2 food containers with fish porridge - extra set of clothes for Josh and Kate - celery - apples The journey there is around 30-40 minutes and we enjoy the bus ride there because along the way, we get to see the greenery and the Seletar Reservoir. Weather is very fine and this time we learnt more about pygmy hippo and the goats! Pygmy hippos ----------------- Their size is 10 times smaller compared to the Nile hippos. And people actually hunt them for their teeth! This is so cruel because they are amazing animals and humans just like to make them endangered. Our zoo managed to breed 11 young pygmy hippos and the two we saw in the zoo are a couple. Their feeding time is 2.30pm daily and we saw so many fishes surrounding them. Amazing stuff.. Yesterday, both Eve and I have no idea what to do on a beautiful Sunday and in the evening, we have a wedding to attend. So she decided that we go to the Singapore zoo!!! Woohoo. And its a fun experience and Josh went there for the first time too!! When we reached there at the entrance,there are statues of elephants and Eve took pictures for me and Josh. And there are so many exciting up close and personal events!! There is a white faced monkey and it just appeared in front of a sign board and Eve courageously went forward and take a picture of it! Wow.. We and a few tourists are so afraid of it! Ha. And there are free roaming orang utans and they are a couple with a baby! The sight is so beautiful and we didn't manage to take good pictures Coz we only brought iPhone. We should bring normal camera there.. To get the best photos in the zoo!
