SIA RUN 2014

On 2nd November 2014, I just had my first fun run after so many years! I think the latest one was when I was in the Army Half Marathon, back when I was in Army. I want to thank Tuck Leng for organising this event! And it's really a great get-together for the 4 of us and I feel that we will be participating more fun runs together!

The weather was fine and it's really great feeling to jog for a great cause - To give to Community Chest.
We signed up for the 5km fun run. And we did it! Sprinting at the last 100m, as the loser will treat everyone breakfast. Tuck Leng and I tied at first place, followed by Lionel and Siyang came in last! Boohoo. I have never dashed so fast in my life ever!

There are many hydrating points and we had Pocari Drinks too.

So many getting themselves hydrated even before the run

Look! There are so many people attending!
The fun run started at 8am and we were all so enthusiastic about it! Taking pictures while we slow jog. Yeah. Jog and walk, take pictures and jog and walk and take pictures. You know the pattern already.

Fun run are great with friends!

We were so happy when we cleared the first kilometre!

The jogging path is quite scenic. Overseeing the Stadium.

Yes! The 3km mark. Easily...

We passed by the Sheares Bridge too...

Just before the finishing line, we took picture at the Pit Stop area

Look! The 4km mark. Seriously, we don't feel that we have jogged that much.

A fun picture showing some shag face.

Yes! We completed the race and had the medals. Felt like champions.

I'm so glad that through this event, $5million was raised to give to Community Chest! It's really amazing that SIA organised this run. It was well-planned and luckily the weather was fine for the jog! We stayed on for the lucky draw. However didn't manage to win anything and the top prize was a pair of Business Class return tickets to anywhere!! :)

All of us felt great after the run! And it's all definitely for a good cause! And more fun runs to come right? :) Oh yes. There were winners for the 10km runs! And the top three winners are from overseas! I guess that they are experienced long distance runners. Simply hats off to them. There was also a event just for the kids - Kids Dash, for 7 to 12 year olds. Probably can get Josh to try when he's of that age!

I have came up with a list to bring for marathons / short runs.
1. Sunglasses
2. Extra Shirt
3. Extra Underwear
4. Water Bottle
5. Plastic Bag to contain the wet singlets / clothes
6. Camera
7. Some money
8. A pair of slippers (optional)

Looking forward to a next fun run!!
