Being a father

Image
Picture of me with 3 children in the early morning of 7am! Honestly for me, this January has been a fast moving month for me. I haven't really have the time to blog on the daily happenings of my life. I have to consistently blog more! Mostly everyday, it has been cooking, going for appointments, travelling, cooking, bathing the children, reading story books, exercising, sleeping. The next day just carries on and on! I feel that there are so much things to learn as a father and husband. And I'm glad that Eve will give me some websites to read when I'm on the go outside. As a father, one should provide for the family. Provision in terms of money, meals, love to wife and children and be the decision maker for the house matters. Many a times, I have personally encountered that most of the house matters are given to the spouse. That's tough for the women. It is definitely a shared responsibility. We fathers should do more and it's not just about giving the Vitami...

2014 - Thanksgiving

Wow! I'm just so thankful that 2014 has been an awesome year for both Eve and I. It's tough, hectic, happy, enjoyable, tired, excited.. All these feelings are felt day in and day out! One thing for sure, I want to thank God for all these to be possible.  Family Eve is able to help in the house budgeting. That up her skills in the area of finance in the house. She breaks them down into detailed weekly regular expenditures and we are able not to over spend every week! It's indeed an accomplishment! The daily tracking of the 'outs' is a joint effort and this is really important in every family, to minimize unnecessary expenditure. We have also increased our frequency of home meals, and cater more to our liking too! I should update more often in that blog of mine. I have collated quite a number of pictures! I must have better time management to blog more... Josh This year, we have enrolled him to a few new classes such as piano lessons and gymnastic lessons. He managed ...

Wow. This month has zoomed so fast. Already 17 days have gone! I'm really very glad that I have been meeting up with my clients, up to the extent of around 2-3 a day. I'm so happy to see them progressing in their lives. Some getting their own properties, some getting better paying jobs and some even got married! It's really a life business that I'm in. Very happy about it. Definitely it's tiring, on the good side, I manage to have some new insights from my clients such as deals to go such as tree climbing, online nuts delivery and also countries that they have gone! I'm so happy that my clients trust me and my company. I'm really very thankful for it. Blog Recently there is tremendous spike in the daily views of my blog. It used to be averagely 70-80 views. After I blogged about the horse riding, the daily views maintained at 400-500 views daily! I'm just so amazed by it! Thanks again for reading my blog :) Family These days have been ver...

Updates

Image
Wow! I'm just so thankful that despite me stop blogging for over a month, my daily views for my blog is averagely 70! Thank you so much for being supportive. A few of my clients asked me how come I never blog these days! I just said that I will do it! I really need to have my blogging momentum back so that when I grow old, I am able to look back at my own family happenings! Josh Josh's appetite has grown tremendously! Previously, we have to keep telling him to eat his meals mouthful by mouthful. Now it's different! He eats his food and asks for a second serving too! Amazing! His weight is 16kg! His train designs are much more intricate and he even adds suspension bridge into his IKEA train tracks and LEGO combination. Look at how detailed his construction of the train track! The undulating heights of the ground (caused by the plastic covers and the different heights of the track stands) are smoothened out and enabling his train to move on flat train track!...

Happy 5th Birthday, Josh!

Josh is 5 years old already! And yes, we are also 5 years old as parents! Totally amazing journey, watching him from a baby, to toddler to now, a big boy! He has taught us many lessons and skills! He has made me much more efficient as a person too. From 2009, both Eve and I worked even closer as a team. And together with her mum, the journey of setting up Hoe Family is honestly both challenging and rewarding. Over the years, we have enlarged our capacity as people who can - do meal planning for family - breastfeed at home, outside = anywhere (kudos to Eve) - mix and match our daily schedules - do shopping at wet markets - research on better alternatives for diet - include exercise into our weekly schedules - travel overseas with the children - home organisation - do budgeting ( not to spend on things we don't want) - research on ideas to teach our children on language, arts, music and trying them out - plan park trips and picnics  - go to chur...

3 babies at 75 days old

Image
It's so amazing how our children evolves through these years and they actually look like themselves actually! Look at them when they are only 75 days old! And they look DIFFERENT! Don't be shocked! This special post on them 75 days old, makes me feel as if I have triplets in one go, isn't it? JOSH HOE This is Josh. Very few hair and he looks dark, compared to Gwen. He really look non-Chinese yes? Ha. I honestly can't really remember how was his sleeping pattern then. All I can remember is that he was the one whom I bathed a baby for the first time! Oh my! This picture was taken before I had LASIK! Ha. Josh really looks different from us. But now, he's handsome boy... Ha. KATE HOE This little Michelin star has amazing arms at 75 days. This is because she is drinking Josh's two year old breast milk ever since she was born. Guess the amount of nutrition in the breast milk nourished her so well! Amazing! And time really ...

Josh and trains

Image
Josh loves his train tracks! And recently, we got him another set of train tracks as a reward because he managed to go toilet and make big business for consecutive 7 days! We even had a tracker on the whiteboard, and he would paste a sticker once a day has passed. And thereafter, he stopped using the potty for his passing of motion! I realized that Josh really loves to build different types of train tracks, with splits and tunnels. I have sat down and played with him and these few days, he formed his own train track elevators!  He made use of egg trays and other toys to elevate up the train tracks! This was something he invented by his own! He even used paper plates as an additional height for the train tracks! Totally creative and he said that the white plate acted as a station for the trains. Here is another unique train elevated tracks. He made use of the green plastic tray. It's really quite nice when the whole entire train network has differe...

Happy Birthday Josh

Image
Well, 15th August 2013 marked a special date for Josh. He is now 4 years old! And it also tells us that we are 4 years as parents and counting!  What we did This year, we made it a simple affair and we did not buy any cakes at all for Josh! :) We just decide to do what both our children like to do :) We went to Toa Payoh SAFRA swimming complex and they loved it so much! Josh and Kate shared the float and it's their first time using it willingly! And the baby pool's very clean! Love the place so much. For dinner, we dine at Hai Jing Lou (nearby the Toa Payoh Central). It's also Josh's favourite porridge place. Hence we decided to patronise there. And he ate like 2 bowls while Kate ate 3 bowls of porridge! Wow. Soon after that, we celebrated his birthday at Brownice at Marymount, our favourite vegan ice cream shop whereby we had our waffles and healthy ice cream! We tried his favourite strawberry ice cream and a new delicious flavor, hazelnut! So de...

Wow. I didn't know there is a meaning to Racial Harmony Day ? I thought it's just a day whereby we put on our cultural clothes and celebrate. It's one part of it, but the most important meaning is that on 21st July 1964, there is a racial riot in Singapore! Amazing. At Josh's school, they celebrated Racial Harmony Day and not only they wore cultural clothes, they also got a taste of food, such as Malay kueh, Yam cake, Prata... So funny! I'm so amazed that I know this just today! Not to old to know right? :) Anyway, both my children are so happy to be wearing the cultural costume!! For Josh's one, my father-in-law bought it at Yue Hwa at Chinatown . And what amazes me is that so many people go there for this celebration event! The 1980s picture! Kate's laughing at Steady for not wearing any costume? Ha! Josh just wants to be special and take a milk bottle to pose!  Who can split more? Josh or Kate? They are future kungfu masters? ...
