Happy 5th Birthday, Josh!

Josh is 5 years old already! And yes, we are also 5 years old as parents! Totally amazing journey, watching him from a baby, to toddler to now, a big boy! He has taught us many lessons and skills! He has made me much more efficient as a person too.

From 2009, both Eve and I worked even closer as a team. And together with her mum, the journey of setting up Hoe Family is honestly both challenging and rewarding. Over the years, we have enlarged our capacity as people who can

- do meal planning for family
- breastfeed at home, outside = anywhere (kudos to Eve)
- mix and match our daily schedules
- do shopping at wet markets
- research on better alternatives for diet
- include exercise into our weekly schedules
- travel overseas with the children
- home organisation
- do budgeting ( not to spend on things we don't want)
- research on ideas to teach our children on language, arts, music and trying them out
- plan park trips and picnics
- go to church and cell group regularly
and the list continues...

All these are possible because of love. It's something that has to be maintained and hard work from both parties.

What we did?
We went to the Bishan Park for a stroll. And it was a sunny afternoon, thus I brought along two umbrellas with us.

Kate with her doll and tricycle!

Josh and his bike!
All was fine until we walked past the park connector, and it started to drizzle and pour! Oh man! It happened once again as we had encountered twice before while walking at Bishan Park.

I used the two umbrellas and sheltered each of them, while I'm soaking wet with the rain. Luckily they are much stable compared to the previous time whereby Kate cried. This time, we quite enjoyed being stranded at the same spot below the MRT track, near the Bishan Sports Complex.

We were stranded for about 40 minutes! The nearby canal became swollen with rain water. Kate grew cold and I gave her my singlet. After giving, she said she's still cold. I told her I have nothing more to give her! Lol. I managed to get another person, who was also stranded, to take a group picture for us!

The rain subsided and we slowly made our way back to our home. Thank God Eve prepared a good hot meal for us to eat! :)

Birthday cake

Which child don't like a birthday cake?

Josh decided the flavor of his cake: Strawberry. Thus we got him a strawberry shortcake. A slice!

Happy birthday song!

It's really touching to see your children growing and having fun with one another. During the birthday song, Josh grabbed Gwen's hands and clapped the song beat. Gwen's expression is forever epic. Kate's also feeling blissful!

Josh blowing his candle

Josh happily blew the candle. And Gwen amazingly clapped her hands!

Kate's turn to blow the candle

Kate also had her own fair chance to blow the candle.

Gwen's turn to blow the candle!

Gwen looked as if she wanted to blow, but she couldn't. Josh helped her to blow.

We are just so excited to see how our children will grow and become successful adults! And their close sibling relationship will even empower them as confident adults. Thank you God for your grace!
