90th Birthday!

August is also a month of birthdays for our family members. On 3rd of August, we celebrated 90th birthday of my grandmother-in-law! Amazing right? We held it once again at Castle Green.

Prior to the cake cutting session, we did our individual games such as going to the playground, swimming as well as having the catered sumptuous dinner! After that, I conducted games for the relatives! I really enjoy hosting the games and I'm glad that the children enjoyed too!

The first game was FOOD TASTING!

The children were to be seated and they have to guess what is the food given to them! Surprisingly, they are able to guess them very well. I have prepared a few food such as pop corn, blue berries, water chestnuts, apples, raisins...

Picture of me feeding Josh, as the children are eagerly waiting to guess what's the mystery food!

Yes! The children have to close their eyes when being fed!

Next is the adults turn! I have prepared blindfolds for them by using the clean nappies I have used at home! :) Ain't I'm resourceful?

Adults turn for the food tasting!
Josh was standing at one corner, so eager to see the adults' expressions. Indeed theirs is much tougher. Their guess on the food were preserved ginger and cinnamon pop corn. During this event, I have forgotten to bring along my portable 'microphone'! Hence, I have to raise my voice slightly. However, it's still fun!

There was a slight waiting for the photo montage video to be set up. I quickly took out the paper plates that I prepared, suppose to play for drawing competition for some children. In the end, it became a drawing session for every children! They drew their best for the happy birthday cake for Ah ma! Touching right?

The children drawing intently. These plates were from IKEA.

Agnes drew a wonderful piece of art!
Eve's cousin, Wanzhen did a photo montage of the history of Ah ma and the past gatherings that they had! It's definitely touching to see the lives of the relatives changed - from being single to attached to having children, the wedding certificate of Ah ma, and the past birthday celebrations! Totally amazing! To have a 90th birthday is certainly an achievement as to have so many people celebrating for you... from your children to your grandchildren to your great grandchildren!

During the photo montage. Look at the jackfruit! Joanna's dad brought jackfruit and it is delicious!

Happy Ah ma with grand daughter, Wanzhen!

90th Birthday cake and with red eggs for luck!

A group picture of all the relatives!

Ain't this a lovely picture! The blissful happiness of Ah ma...

Another shot of group photo

She even gave out red packets to each great grand children! :)

Gwen also had a share too!
Honestly, a decision made in past, such as a marriage, can create a huge legacy in this present day. Ah ma has done so much to bring up her 8 children, and this hard work of hers, has brought closeness amongst her children. Due to this kinship forged amongst the children, they in turn created their own great families, and Ah ma extended her love and help to the grandchildren too. This love of hers has magnified to so many individuals and has touched the hearts of her many descendants. Definitely a great role model and her positivity and perseverance is top notch.

Happy 90th Birthday Ah ma! Wishing you happy and healthy always!
