JB Trip to KSL with Children

Journey from Singapore to KSL

On 21st June 2014, we took a direct bus from Bugis (Queen Street) and we reached the Causeway Check Point after 25 minutes. It cost us each adult $2.50, and child $1.20.

After the Causeway Check Point, we hopped onto the similar bus company and it brought us to the Johor Customs. The queue was very long and it took us 45 minutes to get the passports chopped.

We took cab from the Johore Customs to KSL, costing us RM10.

Thank God we had our fellow friends, Kevin and Sabrina to assist and guide us to take this route!

KSL Resort

I definitely will come back again to KSL Resort. It's just so enjoyable here because firstly, the food we ate was terrific and value for money. Secondly, it's child-friendly with lots of children shops. Not forgetting child friendly swimming pools! Thirdly, it's so convenient as it has a shopping centre!

To be honest, initially we are quite sceptical whether are we able to do it, to travel to Johor Bahru via public transport. And of course at all times, we had our things secured and near to us, especially our children! It's doable, so it's good to try it out at least once. Josh even wants to bring his Grandmother, and he shares with us the steps to reach KSL! So amazing!

We only spent 2 days 1 night here and all of us love it! One night is SGD125.

Day One : Eating and Swimming

When we reached, we headed to munch at Taang Shifu! Their soup is MSG-less! And wow, their home made porridge tasted so delicious! Can't believe we came back for dinner! Their vegetables are so crispy and fresh!

Abalone Slices and Chicken Soup with Mee Sua

Drools! Dried Abalone Porridge with Wolfberries and Crispy Silverfish

Fried Dried Olives with Minced Pork and Chopped French Beans

Even their Green Chilli is so delicious!

Herbal Black Chicken with a healthy dose of mushrooms!

Sesame Oil Chicken Soup with Mee Sua and Fried Egg

Home made Black Sesame Buns with Mushroom and Minced Pork as the topping! Josh ate 3 of the buns
Oh well, a blurred picture! Gwen loves the porridge so much!

The quality of food is A grade and the price just make you want to keep pointing and ordering from the menu! I even commented to Eve that we will all gain weight when we return to Singapore!

Swimming at KSL Resort

The KSL Dinosaur Theme Park

Are we going to be eaten by the Dinosaur?

Visitors have to pay to enter this Theme Park. However, the hotel guests have free entry to this beautiful Dinosaur Theme Park.

Epic picture! Is the Dinosaur real?

The Dinosaurs in the Swimming Pool area will move and spray water occasionally. And that somewhat frightened the children a little bit! Anyway, we managed to bring them to this Theme Park one hour after they played at the cold common swimming pool of the KSL Resort.

Happy Gwen and I

My children loves the swimming pool so much!

Feel so blessed to have my children with me...

Day Two : A Visit to the Fruit and Goat Farm

We went to the Fruit and Goat Farm Trip (RM68 pax). It took us an hour from KSL to reach there. Hence before that, we grabbed our brunch at a nearby coffee place! Delicious chicken rice! And their hand made baos. Too bad I didn't get to take picture of the place and the food!

We sat on an old fruit truck. Shaky and bumpy ride and the children held tightly to the railings.
They have small fans to have well ventilation in the fruit truck!
The entire Fruit Farm Tour takes about 30 minutes! And there are just so many fruit trees!! Rambutans Trees, Mangosteen Trees, Durian Trees, Oil Palms, Coconut Trees...

Picture of Chiku

A fruit similar to Rambutans

Breadfruit! Apparently it's frequently used in Indian dishes

Durian trees!!!!
We were so happy to spot so many durian trees!! And it's just so amazing that they are all at least 30-40 years old! I just feel that my children are so fortunate to see durian trees at such tender age! I only get to see it for the first time!

Kate spotted with durian!
Kate enjoyed so much and their 'kampung' durians certainly tasted different! Very delicious and yummy. And it's those kind that you know it won't give you a sore throat! I wonder who held her hand!?

Look at that!! Yummy! I should have eaten more...

After the Fruit tour, there was a fruit buffet for us to eat! They had cut fruits of honeydew, water melons, pineapples, mangosteens, guavas... I was occupied with opening the 10 over mangosteens for the children. They are just so super sweet! I feel tropical fruits are so delicious!

Goat Farm

We went to the Goat Farm and we were so amazed that the goat's smell is not that strong as the one we went to the Hay Dairies. Probably because there are fewer of the goats here.

We even tried milking this goat! Poor goat has to be tied to the neck for us to touch...

Eve trying to milk a goat! She successfully squeezed out milk after three attempts!

My turn to try to SQUEEEEeeze!

I'm so amazed that I can squeeze after three attempts too!! So tough...

Gwen's looking quite interested. I'm just so amazed that the Goat's milk that we drink everyday is so healthy! Woohoo :) We bought their own fresh Goat's milk at RM5 a bottle! So affordable!

Electric Car Ride @ KSL Shopping Mall

This electric car ride is such an old-school for us! Too bad we, adults are unable to hop onto it anymore! It cost about RM10 for a 10 minute ride! Love it!

Josh and Kate tried their electric car ride!
I'm just so amazed that both Josh and Kate have great motor skills! They can easily grasp the auto function of these electric cars, and they can play around with the forward/backward setting. And especially Kate! She is barely 3 years old and she can play by herself!! Proud of her!
