Gingerbread Man

Last night, we made our very first gingerbread man! It's all because we read about the Gingerbread Man story and Josh wanted to have a taste of it. Eve decided to make for them and she bought the ingredients from Phoon Huat. Both Josh and Kate were so excited to make it when we told them that we are going to bake gingerbread man!  The details of the cooking will be in my food blog mervyncancook.blogspot.com.

Here are some behind-the-scenes pictures...

Josh attempting to flatten the dough using the roller! It's certainly require effort to flatten it!

Eve attempting to flatten the dough. Luckily the table top that we bought from Muji is preparation ready for baking! So amazed by this great wooden table! No need flour to coat on table.

It's my time to flatten and it really trains the arm muscle! We took about 7 minutes to flatten to 3-4mm thick! And luckily my children are patient to look and wait!

Next Josh used the cutter to have the gingerbread man shape on the flattened dough!

Look at it! So cute right? Little gingerbread men, no wonder the gingerbread man in the fairytale story wanted to escape because we are all out to eat them!!

Some sweet candies are placed on the raw gingerbread men.

Aren't they deliciously cute? Can't wait to see the cooked version as I have never seen it before!

These two pictures are like parents and children! So cute right? We used toothpicks to draw out the shapes of the eyes and mouth. Just so cute!

This is a page of the storybook. And it's really so amazing. Both Josh and Kate liked the shape so much! It looks as if the one in the book is chasing after the real one... Lol.

Finally! The finished edible product of the gingerbread man!

They smelt so great and the whole kitchen filled with the aroma of the gingerbread man! I'm just quite amazed that my children like the ginger taste! And it's not so sweet too. Love it! We even gave three gingerbread men to our neighbor!

Happy Josh and he is going to bite the head! AH!!

Kate digging out the eyes aka chocolate chips! They just love it!

Find that baking is so fun and this recipe is really so easy and I'm sure many of you would want to try it! Wait for my upcoming post on the baking process! So happy!
