Lim Chu Kang Trip

Wow!

Yesterday was indeed a fun trip for Deepavali. We decided to bring the whole family to visit Lim Chu Kang farms. We brought with us some food, just in case we are hungry. And all of them are finished. We brought our home-made pancakes, some nuts, cut apples, seaweed and water.

Hay Diaries
------------------
We took the North-south line to Kranji station, and it was pouring. Luckily, when we reached Kranji station, it stopped. We took a cab and headed into Lim Chu Kang Lane 4 to the Hay Diaries farm. It was our first time there and I was so amazed by the number of goats there! There is a nursery area as well as a milking area. The milking time is around 9am-11am daily. We walked one round at the farm, but the smell just kept me reminded of my dad's mutton curry! So bad right? But it is. The lamb smell is just quite overpowering.

The good news is that Josh drank a bottle of the goat's milk! We are just so amazed by it. Everyone of us drank a bottle with cocoa powder. I prefer the original taste. And I actually felt good after drinking. Currently, I try to avoid cow milk products because it will cause me to have stomachache. I'm not sure why but probably it's lactose intolerance. In the past, I do not have this issue. After drinking, it made me want to order goat's milk, hand delivered to my place!

After drinking, we decided to walk to the Gardenasia to visit the vegetable farm. Apparently, everyone present there has a car, except us. And from the map, it seemed near to head to Lim Chu Kang Lane 6 to Gardenasia. So we walked out and I saw Eve running towards the road. And she spotted the Kranji Express bus! We hopped on to it, and it brought us to the Gardenasia.

Happy smily Josh!

Kranji Express
----------------------
Each adult is $3, and senior citizen is $1. Apparently, after we paid, we realised that the Kranji Express don't usually stop at the Hay Dairies bus stop! It's just that a passenger requested and the driver allowed. So kind of him. Really want to thank God for it because the journey to Lane 6 is like 30 minutes walk! The bus took about 9-10 minutes to reach there and it started to pour heavily. So we are dry and we are on this shuttle bus, that picked us up at a place that they don't usually stop! I can't imagine if we are stranded in the Lim Chu Kang Lane 5, raining and carrying two children, and wonder where is the Gardenasia. Really thankful for the bus.

Josh wants to sleep and since it is a loop service, we forgo the Gardenasia stop and the Jurong Frog Farm station and we rested for 45 minutes and we reached the Bollywood Veggies!

This is the clearest picture in the Kranji Express. It's taken on the moving bus.

A happy family at Lim Chu Kang.

Bollywood Veggies
--------------------------
Great place for dining and we ordered alot of dishes there! Try their fig tea! Apparently they use their very own fig tree leaves and boil to become their signature drink. Delicious. We also ate fried leaves which tasted so good! (Drools)

We saw a puddle with lots of Apple Snails! And tadpoles! It's been awhile since I have seen tadpoles and I'm so excited! They look like small commas swimming in the water! Love them so much. Apparently Eve used to catch and rear them into small frogs, before releasing them back to Bishan Park! Amazing! Josh loves them too!

The floor was wet, so we didn't really venture out into the farm with the children. Eve and I went around and the garden is well kept. Not much variety of vegetables, but common plants like lemon grass, sugar cane, pandan leaves.. Was thinking there is a vegetable farm present there.

I am eating the crispy vegetable dish! Yum.

Dishes we ordered: Mushroom with toufu, papaya soup, delicious chicken, and egg with Otah.

Their signature kangkong dish is very delicious too. On the extreme left is a brown cup with fig tea!

After that, we headed back home and everyone of us are quite tired already. The train ride back was pleasant as both of my children loves to see the scenery from the train seats.

We will definitely visit other sites once again. Find that it is so interesting!
