Simple things we do with my children
FIVE SIMPLE ACTIVITIES WE LIKE TO DO WITH OUR CHILDREN!
1. Going to Over-head Bridges!
Bringing them to playgrounds are very good. Not only they play, they also communicate with other children, for example, these toy trucks are actually from another child. They wanted to play so I asked Josh to ask for permission to play. 'Can we share your truck, please?' And the child agrees! So amazing and both of the, played for awhile. Later the child left and Josh asked me to buy the truck. -_-.
1. Going to Over-head Bridges!
We can spend 30 minutes sitting there and just looking over the train depot! Josh's interest is trains and I managed to chanced by an over head bridge that oversees a train depot. One day, we went there just to eat our home cooked food. It's like a picnic at the top of the bridge. How cool is that!
We played 'I spy' games, and Josh noticed the bus numbers that comes to the bus stop! It's really amazing. From the bridge, we are able to see our house, our in-law's house too. And Josh is able to point where is it. Kate likes the stairs and enjoys the view too! Love it. It's actually our new hide out to go too!
2. Going to Church
Every weekend, we make a point to bring our children to church. This is so as to let them know it's part of our lifestyle to go and listen to sermons. And they enjoy it too, be it at nursery, the main auditorium or even at the playground my church has created!

Josh and a purple-pink bike. It looks beautiful but it's quite tough to ride on, according to Josh.
Look who's the passenger and the driver! |
Look at this cute bicycle! Josh loves to pedal this and Kate simply enjoys as the passenger! It's just so cute to see them play by themselves and auto run!
Hiding in a wheel... Maybe she can try out Crossfit workout next time! |

And they get to meet friends and we will also meet our own cell group friends. That's when they will also get to know that we, adults, have friends too. And it's just letting them experience what both eve and I are experiencing. For the church message, they don't really understand. However, we will let them know some simple words like Amen, Thank you Father, Thank you Jesus etc.
The playground, aka KidzPlay, is well constructed with playgrounds and my children just love to play there right after the service. They cycle and Kate will be the passenger for Josh, the driver. And they will also love to put on the safety helmets too, coz in the past, they didn't really like the feeling and idea of safety helmets!
Love bringing them to church!
3. Neighborhood playgrounds
They love to go to neighborhood playgrounds and like this Sunday, I brought them down to 4 playgrounds and we spent nearly 2 hours outdoor! They are just full of energy.

These are the blue berries that we have picked up painstakingly! |
These blue berries are found at certain parts of our neighborhood and today, we managed to count there are 16 of these trees! Both Josh and Kate love to pick these blue berries and open them up from the pod. And they will then bring back home to grow. And surprisingly, our house has a baby tree plant from these seeds!
Sharing and playing with other people's toys |

This picture is epic! One family is Josh's classmate. One family is our fellow neighbour! And they all happen to squeeze into one picture! |
We also chanced by Josh's classmates at times downstairs. It's like when we were young, all our Primary school friends live near the vicinity of your house. Likewise for Josh, his classmates live near him too so it's additional gain when we see their classmates down playing too! Woohoo.
The world is just so small. And the people at the background are my neighbors at my level below us. They too like to comedown and play. It's just by coincidence that they all stand in the angle that I'm taking picture of my children playing badminton.
4. Going to the Library
Our Singapore's library is very comprehensive and has a wide range of books to choose from. Who says we need to buy books? Children will 'like' a book for a short while and soon, will prefer new books.

Going to the library will get you occupied with tons of picture books, creative art books that will capture your attention. Simply love libraries and we will usually hang out when the bell sound out 'Dear readers. Our library will be closing in 5 minutes time.' So epic.
5. Build train tracks and LEGO
We have North-South Line, North-East Line, Circle Lines and East-West Line! Josh loves his extensive network of train stations and he will use his own creative juices to form his own versions of train tracks. Look at how he engineers to a gradual slope of the train tracks (trying to form Kallang MRT train tracks as it emerges out from a tunnel, and moving up the slope)

Kate will also add in LEGO buildings. Her buildings are much simpler as compared to Josh's. And it's a happy sight when you see your 2 children occupied in their own play time with the toys! The challenging part is actually telling them to clean up. Oh well...
