Taiwan Part Two

Breakfast at Ambience Hotel

It's certainly great to have breakfast buffet in the morning, apart from the greetings of early morning sun! Taiwan is having summer now and the whole sky is lit up at 5.30am!

Kate and her bread. She didn't really eat the whole of it, but she loved their yoghurt and porridge.

Josh loves the bread and the spreads. And he accompanies it with warm soy milk.

Their fruits are always sweet! Sweet pineapples, papaya and water melon. I miss their carrot juice which I have drank last January at another Hotel.

These foods look nice, but I didn't try. Ha. The pastry looks sweet for me, something I refrain from eating. As well as the ham. However, they are creative to make fruits and meat together. I just don't dare to try. Lol.

Taipei Expo Park

We headed to this Taipei Expo Park 花博公园 and it's so beautiful. We intended to try taking cab to the nearest train station, and bounce up to the next stop. However, the cab driver say it will be a more expensive option because once we alight at the train station, we have to take another cab there. Why not take a straight journey up and it's cheaper. Indeed it's true!

Ok. It's around 11am and there is very few people in this beautiful park. The weather is just super fine and warm! Yet these flowers can still thrive. Aren't they amazing?

Picture of us with a large whale at the background.

Stone throwing is one of the things my children love to do. Notice that Josh can throw very well up into the sky. And it's a large bunch of stones. I related to them that Hansel and Gretel also used these stones to escape the woods!

This picture of Kate throwing the stones is classic! She throws and flings them backwards! So cute! It's good because she won't have a chance for the stones to hit her face.

After 10 minutes in the park, all of us are barbecued and we went to the nearest train station, on our way to Taipei Zoo Station.

Taipei Zoo Station Train Ride

Kate loves her this little pink cap and she sits attentively on the train. And she is so excited about the zoo!

Their train stations have this dual seats and they are so clean! They have a child toilet seat as well as adults. I find we should learn from them. Most of the times, the public toilets in Singapore are not so pleasant and child friendly. Here in Taipei, you don't need to worry about that. However you still need to wipe the toilet cover seat before using it.

Finally we reached Taipei Zoo station, where there is the Mao Kong Cable Car and the Taipei Zoo!

Mao Kong Cable Car

In January this year, the queue here took us one hour to get into the cable car. However, there is no queue when we reached there! I am shocked! I thought they are closed or something.

We bought tickets up and it's only NT$120 (S$5.50) per adult, to and fro. It's super affordable and so much scenery to see!

I wonder how can I carry three children for such photo taking. The additional one sit on my shoulder? Lol.

My children love the cable car ride and Josh loves the sound it makes when it reaches the towers linking the cable car.

Mao Kong cable car has two types, one is the traditional one and another with crystal flooring. We sat the crystal one on the way back. It's so beautiful.

When I removed my slippers to take picture, Kate also followed and wanted to stand on the platform. So funny right? Really love this picture so much.

This is really an enjoyable cable car ride and with the calmness and scenic view, all of us love it so much. We can see Taipei 101 too. Simply alluring and it is an icon in Taipei.

Picture of Grandma and Kate.

To sit in this crystal floor cable car, one has to queue longer than the normal ones. It's more popular and it's the same price as the normal one. Even though when we bought the tickets, there seemed to be no one, when we went up, we have to wait for 40 minutes for the crystal floor cable car! That's why we took the normal one first.

Taipei Zoo

The entrance fee for this zoo is NT$60 (S$3). Can you believe it? It is close to 6 times cheaper than that in our hometown's zoo.

We went to the see the reptiles, birds and frogs and I can say that they have more varieties of tortoises and frogs, and the exhibits are very interesting.

Kate loves tortoises, something we didn't know. She circles this tortoise so many times! And she is so happy to see it!

Green frog exhibits and it's air conditioned! The weather is so warm and we are so glad there is air con!

Kate and the tortoise. Apparently they have many moving tortoises that are centuries old! Really amazing stuff.

Love this exhibit. It's called flying frog! Their skin is so shiny and it is so juicy. Wonder if it is poisonous?

I taught Josh about this that the frogs are so sad (to be caged up). Just joking. It's about deforestation and the frogs have no place to go to. Their house are destroyed because we removed the trees. This is something we should bring back to Singapore. :)

Their tram ride after so much walking and the hot weather. Kate KO first. She managed to delay her nap for so many hours! Glad that she took some rest.

The pity is that we didn't manage to see the panda and the koala bear! The children are quite tired by then and guess that the next time to come is with Eve and our third child! Yeah!!

Large supermarket 大沦发

One thing about Taiwan is their Chinese is not the simplified version. Hence some characters that I type here is not the same.

We went to 八德路 to get some stocks back to Singapore because it is cheaper here! The 马玉山 products of the wheat and black sesame powder. It is 50% cheaper to get it here! Hence we bought about 10 packets back :) it's also good for Eve to eat when she is hungry.

Our second day is really the adventurous one as we travelled by foot and cab at long distances! It's worth it because my children are so happy. My MIL is happy. I'm happy too. Just happy to come here.
