One Mac that one has to go...
That is... MacRitchie Reservoir. This is really a superb place. Still can remember my secondary school, I go there just for cross country run, and managed to get a pen every year as I emerge the top 50 runners. And that place didn't change much in terms of nature. The human aspect has changed as they have included more carparks, restaurants, water features and play grounds for visitors.
Look at the scenic view and there are so few people present there. Really so amazed by this place. The place is so windy that I can let my (spikey) hair down!
The reservoir has no visible fishes though. Probably it was sunny and the fishes went to hide. However, it doesn't matter. The trees, rustling of the leaves, the sound of the waters just calm your soul. People should come here often to be with the nature, and realize that nature is just so beautiful.
3 girls enjoying the breeze. Kate loves to eat her nuts and she really enjoys herself. When you see your children enjoy the place, it will automatically make you feel good that your decision to come here is correct! I'm so glad we stay near here, and also the NParks people maintain this place very well!
Munching food there is kinda relaxing! True escapade from urban life. And MacRitchie Reservoir is actually home to Primary and Secondary forests in Singapore. The trees here are so much taller and older than those in Botanic Gardens. Probably one day when my children are older, we will bring them for trekking here. Woohoo. Also, we should come here earlier, whereby the air is so much fresher and cooler!
Think this is a nicer shot? The morning grass is slightly wet actually. Luckily we brought the picnic mat there. It's really comfortable to sit there. We should bring more food such as sandwiches, salad, fruits etc. Oh well, guess what happen shortly?
Gwen slept! How awesome and peaceful. And I also wanted to sleep on the mat too. Just that we have to return back home and prepare Josh's school food and bag. It's a short trip, but a fun and memorable one. We love MacRitchie Reservoir!
There is this Zig zag bridge at the Reservoir, and it's still the same old bridge. Kate loved it so much and decided to climb at the ledge to get a better view of the fishes. It's dangerous of course!
Look we did the infamous Titanic scene... Told Kate to stretch out her hands. So cute right? Ha. After this shot, she ran along the bridge, refusing to go back home. I guess that she likes the wooden platform of the bridge, which is similar to that of Bishan Park's. This place is really a great place for children to come, and I'm glad that my children love MacRitchie Reservoir too. It's a big place that even we, adults haven't really venture much inside too.
