House visitation part 2

On the fourth day of CNY, no one can imagine this! Both Eve and I prepared food for 18 people - 9 adults and 9 children. How can a couple do these by 10.30am?

We cooked 4 cups of fried rice, boil Japanese green peas, oven bake potato wedges and oven bake seaweed chicken and soup. This is certainly record breaking because we managed to do all these by 10.30am! And our two children awoke at 9.30am.

For fried rice, we woke up to cook the white rice at 4am. And I cooked together with bacon and corn. Luckily the fried rice turned out ok! Woohoo. I'm actually quite amazed that this time, we didn't even use a single paper plate and plastic spoons. They used our house bowls, plates and spoons. And the rubbish collected is not a lot, only used corn-based forks and cups.

Children
------------
These 18 people are from Josh's school. There are his classmates and fellow parents and siblings. Really glad that everyone had their fair share of fun and the parents are really amazed that we do not have any television at home.

Our house then turned into a mini child care centre and we even invited Josh's N1 school teacher, Ms Tan along to have fun and most importantly to help us take care of them. Just joking. The children are very happy to see her too!

I'm quite amazed that most of the people preferred sugar water, like ribena than plain water. My house all along doesn't have this drink. Eve just feel that as a celebration, the children and adults may need it. And she is right! Oh man. When I was at NTUC, I even asked the lady which one is the smallest ribena syrup and she showed me the 1 liter bottle!! Can't believe it. It's actually all sugar. Hmm.

Food
--------
We didn't thought of catering food because outside food is certainly not to the favor of the children and we believe that the home cooked food will be a better option for them. Pizzas are a quick fix, but still it's just flour and oil, not much nutritional value.

Luckily we made carrot and soya bean soup and the children and adults love it! It's a sense of achievement when at the end of the day, people like your food and they are full too!

Actually I found out that if you are happy when cooking, the food will also turn out to be good too! Maybe next time we can prepare much healthier drink for everyone to have it, rather than the quick fix of ribena.

Clean up
-------------
Everyone played a part to keep back all the toys back to the original place while I am the dish washer. Luckily all of us managed to clear the food and the place, just like in the child care whereby the students would clear their toys after play time! Good culture!

House hopping
----------------------
After that, we went to Josh's classmate's (Bosco) house, just a few blocks away from ours. One thing good is that everyone of us live very near to each other. And there, they played their own set of toys!! Bosco's house has lots and lots of toys! So amazing.

I feel mostly guys love trains.

I wonder how come I smile like this. What a weird smile!

Look at this! Imagine I have four children. Will it be like this everyday?

Doesn't this look like a classroom?

Lucas, same age as Kate. Hence they will be classmates next year!

Kate and Josh's classmates. So cute!!

Simply speaking. All these are not possible if the parents made the decision to meet and come. I am really very happy that both Eve and I, together with my children enjoyed themselves.
