Appreciation

This thought came to me when I'm in the toilet. And it just awoken me and realize all the more one should appreciate your loved ones, especially your wife (for my case is Eve).

The amount of sacrifice she has made is certainly what man won't understand.

1. The amount of excruciating pain she had undergone when she gave birth not only once but THREE times! For Josh, Kate and Gwen.

For me, I will never be able to experience the birth pain. However, imagine my flesh to expand to 10cm, I think I will actually lie flat and faint.

2. The fact that during giving birth, there are two nurses (strangers) looking and staring at your genital. And the doctor will come and repair it after birth.

This really takes lots of courage! I had mine checked by medical doctors and I will feel awkward and weird even though it's just a 4-5 second check. Imagine it's seen by them for more than 30 minutes and even hours! I will be blushing! Woa man. So paiseh but for Eve, she can go past this stage! Wow.. kudos.

3. The fact that your stomach has increased in size, and the way you sleep and the way you walk, it's not easy at all. Men will not get it, unless you already have a beer belly. However, it's heavier than a beer belly, and not only that, it moves. At times, her stomach will be at oblong shapes! This makes her so uncomfortable.

For me, it will be tough to endure this for 9 months. Guess if guys were to be pregnant, the pants have to be altered so many times!!

And furthermore, to do this three times! It's not easy and really appreciate her for tolerating it! Ha.

After hearing this three points, how can one not appreciate your wife? It's certainly something that was meant to be (since I can't get pregnant at all). Hence, to love and appreciate your spouse is the most basic and simplest thing a husband should do.

It's certainly not easy to be pregnant and really appreciate your wife for choosing the role! :)

God's perspective
In the bigger picture, actually it's God who has planned everything and all the three points happen for a reason.

For Points 1 and 2, the reason for vaginal birth is certainly amazing. The baby tries it's way out, and in the process, it clears the water in the lungs, and that's why babies cries after birth because they are gasping for air. That will make the lungs expand and to fill with air!

The chances of the baby to have asthma or breathing difficulty is reduced a whole lot more!

For Point 3, God didn't plan in such a way that the baby in the womb will grow exponentially but gradually. This is as such so that it makes the body and bones accustomed to the baby.

And we have thought that it's amazing to form placenta, water bag and baby all squeezed in the womb, in 9 months and all in a weight of 5-7kg. It's really fine engineering and great planning, having the baby living in water and at the same time, the skin is water-proofed. And the umbilical cord is the food source for the baby. Seriously Man will not be able to create this by their own. God has made every trimester and every cells formed at the right timing and reason.

All in all, appreciate every little things you have. The good and the bad, and life is really full of surprises. Thank you God.
